Tattoo Removal

Generating heat 1000x faster than previous nanotechnology lasers, Enlighten Laser is able to separate pigment and tattoo ink into much smaller particles than previous technologies, reducing thermal collateral damage to surrounding tissues. The increased speed at which laser energy is delivered causes rapid thermal expansion that shatters pigment into minuscule particles which are then absorbed and excreted from the body more quickly. Enlighten Laser decreases the number of treatments, length of treatments, and risk of scarring due to length of emitted wavelengths and the speed at which they are emitted. Enlighten laser also features three fully-integrated laser wavelengths: 532 nm, 670 nm, and 1064 nm. Pigment and tattoos, which are comprised of multiple colours, require multiple wavelengths for effective removal, are able to be targeted more effectively with this multi-wavelength solution.

No preparation is needed for this treatment. Just arrive with clean skin.

Post Treatment

• Immediately after treatment, there may be "frosting" on the area that is treated. Redness and swelling typical. Pinpoint bleeding may also occur
• A cool compress may be applied and Tylenol is recommended for discomfort
• The treated area should be cared for delicately until healing is complete and care should be taken to avoid trauma to the area for the first 7 days after treatment
• Clean treated area daily allowing water or shower to run over the wound, and then pat the area dry
• Apply Aquaphor to the wound area 2-3 times a day. Keep the area moist and let the scab fall off on its own
• Cover the treated area with nonstick Telfa gauze pad (after Aquaphor ointment is applied) until the wound is healed
• Do NOT pick, peel, rub, scrub, or scratch at the skin in the treatment area
• Although blisters and scabs can be a normal response to tattoo removal, most patients will not experience them. In the case that you do, it is important to not pop or pick at them. If the blister pops on its own, keep the skin covered with a healing ointment and gauze to promote healing and prevent scarring
• No swimming or using hot tubs/whirlpools until the wound heals
• Physical exercise that causes perspiration should be discontinued for at least 2-7 days after treatment as excessive perspiration may disrupt healing
• Avoid sun exposure. When the treated area is exposed to the sun use a thick layer of SPF 30 +, reapply every 2 hours
• Notify us of any concerns (blistering, excessive redness/swelling, etc.)
