SkinPen Microneedling is a minimally invasive collagen induction treatment. It is suitable for all skin types with minimal downtime, and a series of treatments is recommended.

What It Treats
Microneedling helps improve the appearance of acne and textural scarring, fine lines, enlarged pores, uneven texture and tone, and overall skin quality. On the body, it can help improve the appearance of stretch marks, surgical scars and crepey skin.
How It Works
The SkinPen creates tiny, controlled microchannels in the skin, with settings customized to the area. This stimulates the skin's natural production of collagen and elastin, and results build gradually in the weeks after each treatment.
Pre Treatment
Numbing is required. Please book your Numbing for SkinPen Microneedling appointment 30 minutes before your treatment so the topical numbing cream has time to take effect. We then cleanse the area to remove the numbing cream before we begin.
A consultation may be recommended for body treatments. Please let us know about any medications you take so your provider can review them with you before treatment.
Post Treatment
Do
- Rinse with lukewarm water only for the first 24 hours. After that, use a gentle cleanser for the next 3 days and pat dry. Always touch the area with clean hands
- Apply the SkinPen post-treatment product provided for the first 24 hours
- Avoid makeup and sunscreen for the first 24 hours. After that, use clean brushes and wear a mineral SPF 30 or higher daily for 2 weeks
Avoid
- Acids (AHA, BHA), retinol, vitamin C and other active skincare for at least 3 days
- Direct sun for 48 hours, and tanning beds
- Swimming for 24 hours
- Exercise for 24 hours, and sweating and gyms for 72 hours
Expect
- Skin may look like a sunburn and feel warm and tight right after treatment, with slight swelling. This usually settles within a few hours to a day
- Slight redness in small areas may remain for a day or two

How long do results last?
Results build for several months as collagen develops and vary by person. Maintenance treatments every 12 to 18 months are recommended.
What can I expect after my treatment?
Redness and mild swelling usually settle within 12 to 24 hours. Avoid makeup for 24 hours, and you can return to most normal activities right away. Results vary.
