Vascular Treatments

During vascular treatment, targeted wavelengths allow your treatment provider to minimize redness and treat problem areas without damaging the surrounding skin. As pigmented areas are treated with light, they coagulate and eventually dissipate to reduce redness. Red blood cells and dark areas of pigment are easily targeted and naturally eliminated by the body to restore your natural skin tone.

AVOID

• Sun exposure
• Picking the treated area
• Avoid heat - hot tubs, saunas, etc. for 1-2 days
• Avoid for 1-2 days products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl, peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, astringents, etc

EXPECT

• Brusing
• Redness
• Swelling
• A "bug bite look" is common and usually resolves in 1-2 days
• Treated pigment will turn darker (brown to black) within 24-48 hours
• Treated pigment will exfoliate off the face in approximately 1 week
• Treated pigment will exfoliate off the body in approximately 2-3 weeks

Little downtime is needed, but recovery will depend on the type of treatment and the severity of your concerns. Please avoid sun exposure and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF. Avoid excessively hot showers, spas, or saunas for several days following treatment.

Compression stockings may be worn for three to five days post leg vein treatment, if desired. You’ll also want to avoid high impact activity (running, jumping, heavy weights) for three to five days after leg vein treatments. Use gentle, non-irritating products after facial vein treatments – we’re happy to help you find products that won’t irritate your skin.

We use a cooling handpiece to optimize patient comfort every step of the way. This treatment is not painful and is generally well tolerated by our clients.

How many treatments?

Patients usually need one to three treatments.

How long does a treatment last?

Results are long lasting, with optimal results appearing several weeks following treatment.

What can I expect after treatment?

How quickly you’ll see results depends on the type and severity of your vascular concerns and the treatment plan selected for you. You may see immediate improvement, or it may take several weeks before full results become apparent.
