Description
Forever Clear BBL is a light-based acne treatment using Sciton's BroadBand Light. Blue light targets the bacteria that cause acne, followed by wavelengths that calm the redness and inflammation of active breakouts, for clearer, calmer, healthier-looking skin. It is fast, comfortable and non-invasive, with no downtime, and pairs well with a medical-grade home care routine. It can be a helpful option alongside or in place of topical and oral acne treatments, and is suitable for teens and adults with most skin types.

What It Treats
Active acne, breakouts and the redness and inflammation that come with them. It can be combined with Laser Genesis for post-acne redness and texture, or PICO Genesis for post-acne marks and uneven pigmentation.

Pre Treatment
We'll first clean your skin of any makeup and moisturizers. For male patients, you'll need to shave so we can treat your lower face.
Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. A cool gel is applied, and you may briefly feel warmth or a quick snapping sensation as the light is absorbed. Numbing is usually not needed, though your provider may use it for more sensitive areas. If you are new to this treatment, please book a Spot Treatment at least 24 hours before your appointment (72 hours for skin types 4 to 6).
Post Treatment
Avoid
- Retinol, retinoids, glycolic acid and salicylic acid for 1 week, unless your provider advises otherwise
- Prolonged sun exposure for 4 weeks; wear SPF 30 or higher daily
- Picking at any treated spots
Expect
- Mild warmth and redness, which usually settle within a few hours
- Some spots may darken, then fade and flake off

How long does the treatment take?
About 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the area and whether it is combined with another treatment.
What will happen during the treatment?

There is no downtime, and most patients return to work and their usual activities right away.
What aftercare do I need?
Follow your aftercare instructions and the home care routine your provider recommends. Your skin may be more sensitive to the sun, so avoid direct sun exposure and wear sunscreen whenever you are outdoors. Results vary.
