What It Treats
Forever Clear BBL is a cutting-edge acne treatment that uses the power of light to comfortably and effectively clear acne without creams or medicine. BBL is the world’s most powerful IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) device delivering light energy deep into your skin to stimulate and regenerate your skin cells, leaving you with clear, healthy, radiant skin.
How It Works
- Step 1: Skin is first treated with BLUE BBL light to eliminate acne-causing bacteria at its source, deep down in the pores
- Step 2: Skin is then treated with YELLOW BBL light to reduce the inflammation and acne-associated redness to give you healthy, luminous skin
- Step 3: For added benefit, the skin is then treated with SkinTyte II™ using INFRA-RED light in rapid, gentle pulses to initiate the body’s natural healing process. For added benefit, follow your personalized plan including add-on and follow-up treatments, as well as a skincare regimen to keep your skin lasting clear.
Pre Treatment
We’ll first clean your skin of any makeup and moisturizers. For male clients, you’ll need to shave in order for us to treat your lower face. Gel will be applied to your canvas.
Post Treatment
AVOID
- Use of topical skin care products containing retin-A, retinol, glycolic acid, or salicylic acid for 1 week
- Prolonged sun exposure is to be avoided for 4 weeks after treatment
EXPECT
- Intense burning, redness, warmth, and a sunburned sensation are normal responses following BBL treatments
- The discomfort and redness generally last 2-4 hours after the procedure
- Brown patches or spots will look darker and more pronounced immediately following BBL treatments
- In 2-3 days, these brown areas become even darker and frequently feel scaly like coffee grounds on your skin. Within 1-2 weeks, these dark, scaly areas fall off and leave new, healthy skin behind. No matter how tempting, do not pick or scrub these brown spots. Let them come off on their own
- Some patients will wake up with facial swelling, particularly around the eyes for several days following the treatment. This is normal and usually resolves within 3-5 days.
Notify us of any concerns (blistering, excessive redness/swelling, etc.)
Number of Treatments
For best results, we recommend a series of four treatments spaced three to four weeks apart. Most patients report seeing improvements after one treatment, and optimal results are achieved at three months following the final treatment.
FAQ
How long does the treatment take?
It can take as little as 15 minutes, depending on the area you are looking to treat, as well as the treatment you are receiving. Treatment time varies from patient to patient.
What will happen during the procedure?
Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. You may briefly feel a warm or “rubber band snap” sensation as the light is absorbed by the targeted areas. Your procedure may take a few minutes to half an hour depending on the size of the area to be treated and the type of procedure performed. Your physician will discuss all of your options with you including the benefits, risks and what to expect.
Will it be uncomfortable?
The procedure is non-invasive, typically gentle and safe. Generally, there is no need for a topical anesthetic; however, your physician may choose to use it depending on his/her patients’ sensitivities.
What should I expect after the treatment?
You may experience some redness that should resolve within a few hours. Consult your physician if it does not. For some spots, you will see a darkening of the treated areas followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage. Results depend on your skin type, the number of treatments, and the area treated. Your physician will provide you with complete information about the post treatment care and results.
How long will it take to recover?
This is a non-invasive and typically gentle procedure with virtually no downtime. In most cases, you are able to return to work, and resume most of your activities immediately.
What aftercare plan do I need?
It is important to follow your physician’s instructions. You may be given some skin care products and instructions on how to use them. You will be sensitive to ultraviolet light, and you must avoid direct sun exposure until completely healed. Fully cover your skin or use a good sunscreen wherever you go outdoors.
