PRP Vampire Facial

The platelets in your blood contain high levels of growth factors which stimulate cell turnover when applied to the skin. Platelets are also rich in human growth factors which act as energy boosts for our skin. Key benefits are increased production of collagen, elastin, while also conducting antioxidant and hydrating properties.

You must be well hydrated the day before and day of the procedure. It is not required but recommended to avoid the sun, alcohol, and ibuprofen the day before treatment.

DO

• Continue increased water intake the first week after your treatment

AVOID

• To maximize your results; for a minimum of 5 hours post your PRP treatment do NOT wash your scalp/canvas
• Touching, pressing, rubbing or any form of manipulation to the treated area for at least 8 hours after treatment
• Advil, Aleve, Aspirin, Ibuprofen Mortin and Naprosyn, 2 weeks post treatment
• Nutritional supplements - Gingko, Garlic, Vitamin E, Flax Oil, Curcumin an any other anti=inflammatory supplements 2 weeks after your treatment
• Alcohol, caffeine, and smoking for 3 days after treatment
• High heat (sauna, steam room, very hot showers) for 24 hours post treatment
• The sun and use a physical SPF daily
• No facials, facial massage or laser treatments for 2 weeks afterwards

EXPECT

• Mild inflammation, redness and swelling, itching and/or soreness for a few days (2-5) - there are common to any injection procedure
• If there are any tiny bumps rest easy this will go away in a few hours after treatment
• It is normal to feel firmness in the injection site for a few days post treatment, this will soften with time
• Most patients will see results within 2-4 weeks or 3-6 treatments administered at 2-4 week intervals
• Notify us of any concerns (blistering, excessive redness/swelling, etc.)

What is a PRP Vampire facial?

A PRP Vampire facial is a SkinPen microneedling treatment paired with the use of your own natural platelet-rich plasma. It requires a quick draw of your blood to extract the platelets from your body. The platelets are then pushed into the tiny channels of your skin for absorption.

What is the PRP facial or Vampire facial procedure like?

The treatment begins with a blood draw to obtain the blood. It's relatively painless since a very small needle is used. The blood is then run through a centrifuge (blood spinning machine) to isolate the platelets. You'll then receive a light microdermabrasion to prep the skin. Numbing cream is applied to the treatment area. Once you are numb, we will start microneedling with our SkinPen. Microneedling creates tiny channels in the skin for PRP to be pushed into.

How long is a PRP Vampire facial treatment?

The treatment takes a total of approximately 60 minutes.

How long is recovery?

It might take a day or two of downtime depending on how aggressive the treatment was on your skin. You'll emerge from treatment a bit red, almost like a sunburn. Makeup is discouraged for 24 hours after treatment.

How many PRP facials are recommended?

We typically recommend 4 treatments, 4 weeks apart.

What does maintenance look like?

Maintenance is not required but you may wish to receive 2 treatments a year to maintain optimal results.
