5-HTP is a precursor to the neurotransmitters serotonin and melatonin, supporting their synthesis in the body. Vitamin B6, in its bioavailable form as pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P5P), acts as an essential cofactor for serotonin production and conversion, and may also support the synthesis of other neurotransmitters involved in cognitive function and brain health. This formula can be taken during the day to support a healthy mood, or at bedtime to promote sleep. 5-HTP Supreme™ may be used in place of 5-HTP Synergy™ when a higher 5-HTP serving is recommended.

Application
Recommended Dose: Adults 18 years and older: Take 1 capsule three times per day with food, or as directed by your health care practitioner. Use for a minimum of 2 weeks to see beneficial effects. To minimize the risk of gastrointestinal side effects, start at a lower dose and slowly increase to the effective dose over a 2-week period.
Risk Information: Do not use if you have scleroderma, or if you are taking antidepressants. Ask a health care practitioner before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have a psychological disorder such as anxiety or depression, if you are taking carbidopa or health products with serotonergic activity such as mood balance supplements, cough medication containing dextromethorphan, pain killers or medications for nausea or migraine. Ask a health care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen. When using this product you may experience gastrointestinal discomfort; exercise caution while driving or using machinery as you may experience drowsiness. Stop use and ask a health care practitioner if you experience skin hardening, pain or stiffness of muscles or joints, tremors, agitation/confusion, or an increased heart rate.
