Art Battle Vancouver Finale

Art Battle Vancouver Finale

Jul 03 07:00PM

The championship round of the first "Art Battle Vancouver" series.
The winner of this battle will be sent to Toronto to represent Vancouver in the first ever National Art Battle.

Art Battle is live competitive painting.
A thrilling event of artist creation and audience participation, Art Battle brings painter and patron together for an exciting live arts experience.

The Art Battle Vancouver Championship features the returning winners of the first 5 Vancouver battles held each month since February, plus 3 "wild-card" artists chosen from those same 5 battles. They will have 20 minutes to create their best possible work. The medium is acrylic paint and the tools allowed are brushes, palette knives or any non-mechanical implements. Artists work freestyle (no reference materials) and the theme is open.

The competition consists of 3 rounds.
Round 1: 4 painters, with the audience voting for the winner(s).
Round 2: the remaining 4 painters, with the audience again voting for the winner(s).
The winners of each round will move into the 3rd and final round.

The winner of the Vancouver finals will be sent on an expenses paid trip to represent Vancouver at the first "Art Battle Canada" in Toronto on July 24th.

All paintings created at Art Battle are up for silent auction. Paintings that fail to meet the minimum bid will be destroyed on-site in a moonshine-fueled bonfire.
