Classical musicians, jazz musicians, salsa, rock, folk… A beautiful and passionate chaos.
The concept of the event started in France when the minister of culture asked all kinds of musicians amateurs and professionals to take over the streets. He wanted to see them play on every corner of the city. Train stations, Malls, parks etc. ‘Make Music’ has now spread to 460 cities across the world, and Vancouver is one of them. It has become a free festival where musicians simply invade spaces and perform for the sole purpose of making and celebrating music.
Last year, it was a huge success in Gastown. This year it is extending to Yaletown. We will be hosting dozens of artists in both these locations on the 21st of June, the first day of summer and the longest day of the year.
Join us here at Raw Canvas when we start the night off at 6pm with Nicole Johnson and host a gypsy jazz party with local favourites Casa Rosa after 8pm.
We frequently hit capacity and suggest that you call 604-687-1729 or email reservations@rawcanvas.com in advance to reserve your spot so you don't miss the show! If there is a cover-charge - 100% goes to the performers you are enjoying.
